B I O G R A P H Y

 

 

Tom Lee is a London-based Scottish percussionist currently studying at the Royal Academy of Music. He enjoys a diverse musical life as soloist, chamber and orchestral musician, working closely with composers on developing and furthering the percussion repertoire.

 

Since receiving the Elton John Scholarship upon entering the Academy he has performed in many venues around London, including the Royal Festival Hall, Barbican, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Purcell Room, Duke's Hall and Riverside Studios for the Tete-a-Tete Opera Festival. Recent professional engagements include LSO and Aurora orchestras, and recitals for Nonclassical and at the Purcell Room as part of the Rest is Noise festival.

 

Tom has won various awards, including the Yamaha YMFE 2013 Percussion Scholarship, the 2012 & 2013 Avedis Zildjian Scholarships, and the 2012/2013 Leverhulme Orchestral Mentorship Fund. His studies are generously supported by the Musician's Benevolent Fund, the Countess of Munster Trust and the Caird Trust.
